Aims and Objectives

• To provide skills that instil a sense of self confidence in the children.

• To offer social guidance and support towards cultivating a dignified way of living for children with special needs..

Life Skills Training

The School also provides life skills training including cooking, washing dishes, sweeping and bed making which are very vital skills that enables the children to become independent.
In addition to the normal academic skills the school offers practical and creative activities including:

Rankoromane School

Provision of Services

Rankoromane School provides residential care and schooling for children with special needs. There are currently 60 children enrolled of whom 18 have Autism.
The curriculum focuses on the individual child and how to help each one to develop to their full potential. The national primary school curriculum has been adapted to suit the special needs of children with learning difficulties

Boarding Facility

Rankoromane School has a boarding facility that includes a boys hostel, a girl’s hostel and a third hostel particularly for the autistic children.
Rankoromane School believes in making the boarding facility into a family environment so as to make feel like an extended home to the children.

Staff Training

Rankoromane School facilitates in-house training programmes for staff that focus on the overall care of children with special needs.
Field workers and students from the University of Botswana, the National Institute of Health Services and other colleges regularly visit Rankoromane School as part of their training program.
